Staying flat

Well, I’m alive. 😉
For various reasons I’ll go into as soon as bloggily possible, I’m currently stuck on my back like an accident-prone tortoise. I’m not yet ready to log into my modelling websites and return to booking work though I will be in the next few days. For now, I’m supposed to be resting, which does not come naturally to me! (For evidence, please see this typing window on my laptop, the paused film in the background, costume making stuff in the corner and two open books right next to me.)
I keep falling asleep with virtually no warning, which is a very strange experience. Last night I started making a lovely nutritious huevos rancheros but didn’t have the energy to continue it, so everything got turned off at 9pm and now I have a saucepan of redundant tomatoes and onions to rinse out.

And then I woke up to find that my travelling life may well be about to come to an abrupt halt thanks to Brexit! I started todays blog on a whim so won’t go too in-depth politically but needless to say, as a self-employed woman working throughout Europe, with many European friends, I was firmly on the ‘remain’ side. I can’t do much evaluating of my career- or indeed any of this right now- but it does scare me when I hear people interviewed (and on the street) saying “I just don’t understand what we’re actually voting for…”

Right now, the sun reflecting off the water is making patterns on my ceiling and a swan family with seven cygnets came to say hello… then flounced off when no ginger biscuits were forthcoming. I’d love to get up and make my room spotless, do a bit of mindful colouring, finish a painting, start another and draft my next three blogs while peacefully meditating… all in the next hour. But I doubt that’s happened for anyone! 😛 The best compromise I can make is finishing my book and considering the merits of washing up.

Every day has been better than the last for me though, so I’ll be back properly, eloquent-ish and sleepless in no time. 😉 If you are interested in my next tours, I’ll be in Cambridge/Norfolk at the end of July and the South Coast at the end of August. Mail me ASAP and I’ll respond when I’m up and about again.

The Dimholt Road

That sentence got into my head the same way songs do when I shot with Amelia Roslyn and Sam (aka Sjambok) in this ancient Roman ironworks which looked exactly like somewhere in Middle Earth. 😀

 

My pictures don’t really do justice to the scale of the place, which was huge! In fact; for various reasons I need to get myself a ‘proper’ camera, as my phone really isn’t the greatest and I have certain exciting plans involving my own camera…

Anyway, there’s a beautiful expression in (I think) Mexico: “el bosque del corazon” (the forest of the heart), which refers to your spiritual home, rather than the place in which you live. Well, English woodland and forest is mine, so I was very excited when we arrived here- not to mention awestruck, as the light was shining in perfect fairytale shafts through the leaves and down to the mossy boulders I started posing on.

We’d spoken beforehand about the ‘mood’ we wanted from the pictures. Art-nude is often a very dreamy, ethereal genre but this time I wanted something different. There are so many legends about what happens to young wayward men who see faeries and dryads in the woods. Mostly, they’re never seen again- or turned into something four-legged.
So… I wanted the pictures to look as though they were taken *just* before the action happens. As though I know the watcher is there and I’m just deciding what to do about them…

These were smoke grenades (below) as sadly we couldn’t capture the very real strands of mist just above the forest floor!

The photo above might have been taken just after I burst out laughing at a Lord of the Rings similarity (I promise my next blog will have NO Tolkien references.)
We were halfway up a very steep boulder here- there was Amelia being Frodo, with the most important thing (the camera) hanging around her neck, Sam managing the lights and extra equipment, often leading the way (snd already a Sam) … and then there was me, naked and covered with bits of moss crawling up rocks after them. “My precioussssss!” 😛

After a cookie break we moved on to some beautiful, slightly creepy cave entrances for a bit of bondage, which I was very excited to shoot. Although I’m known as a fetish and bondage model, I am actually very selective about who I shoot ropework with as it can be dangerous.

Often our mythical dryad creatures are bound to one cave or tree… so here I am. 🙂

We drove back to my hotel in the beautiful not-quite-sunset. That little dot you can see in the lower middle is the moon!

Obviously, it’s Winter now and far too cold generally to pose nude outdoors but I am available for bookings from late January onwards. Now, I’m on holiday for the next few weeks and planning to get all crafty with making things, and doing a LOT of writing as I have missed doing articles! I haven’t properly decorated the boat yet but I’ll be getting some seriously tacky tinsel in and may even make a Christmas tree fairy. 😉
As a pagan, my Winter celebration is Yule aka the Solstice, which is on the 21st. However, I grew up with Christmas, am more than happy to be told Merry Christmas and I celebrate that with my mum too. Yay for festival sharing… and yule logs.

I have a lot of seasonal festive blogs to share with you soon but right now there is a silver flowery accessory that needs to be steampunked up. 😛

Hello everyone!

I recently have had some really very lovely messages and presents from fans so wanted to say thankyou. To the active followers (those of you I know in the comments), and the lurkers too (I get over 10,000 views a month- I know you’re out there!) Thankyou.

This is a job in which you must always be active- even if you’re having an ‘off’ day, people need to remember who you are and it really is lovely to know that even during those times you guys check in and keep reading. This is not a down time- I’m a very happy lady right now and it’s time to share my good news.

It was one of my New Year’s Resolutions to have at least two covers and three features- I have the first cover, three features and as for the second cover… well, I don’t want to jinx it so I’m keeping quiet about that… 😉

I had such a wonderful time in Europe this year- in fact, best Eurotour ever! I have so many pictures to show you, including the new bondage pictures that so many of you have mailed to ask me for… I’ll put my trip into a proper order when I return on Saturday and then normal blogging can commence, but as I couldn’t wait to show you these, here you are!
I think I look like I’m hiding from some kind of steampunk-y danger in this factory and trying to get the place working again, before being captured. Hence the second part of my title. 😀

The factory I was in is probably one of the most awe-inspiring locations I have ever worked in. It is a rare occasion that a place makes my jaw literally drop (yes, I do mean ‘literally’ here, not ‘virtually’) but this place did it. It’s over five storeys high and towers over the little town next to it. There were hares running around the wood surrounding it and at one point, I could hear distant bells from somewhere nearby. Half of a wall was missing and through the giant gap, I could see forest, tall neon signs and factories blowing steam- I felt as though I had stepped into a videogame or sci-fi art book.

My cameraphone pictures will not do it justice, but I’m going to try anyway with a few ‘behind the scenes’.

Quote of the day:
“Other photographers often contact me asking how I got the dirt effect on my models. Um… it’s DIRT!”

And yes, it certainly is. 😛

I’m putting together a selection of pictures that I will then sell as prints and I’m certainly planning on doing a pack of three of these ones so if there are any you would particularly like as prints, let me know and I’ll bear it in mind. 😀
I’m slacking on my German lesson at the moment so in between packing, I’m off to practise for my next trip to Berlin (and possibly a few other cities too) in November…

The limits so far

Soooo… I hadn’t done suspension bondage in quite a while, but while Wykd Dave concentrated on the rigging,  Clover (who is a professional rope performer and educator herself, as well as a great photographer) helped me through by telling me what would squeeze and pinch before it actually did so that I didn’t panic or worry.

As you know, I’ve been bending. Lots. As these pictures were taken quite some months ago now (yes, I’ve been holding onto them for *that* long), I’m significantly more bendy now and looking forward to my next shoot with the pair so we can put my feet over my shoulders. 😉

Today, I’ve been answering e-mails, reading, drinking hot chocolate with almond milk, completing my to-do list and… making a snowthing. 😀 Tomorrow, I’m writing, seeing a friend and sorting out a grand January sale!
