HELP- In the name of Feminism!!!

26 Aug

Hey again!

I’m back from holiday- it was beautiful but reception-less so apologies if you’re waiting for an e-mail from me! I think I’m up to date now but if you are waiting, do tell me.
We went to the Peak District for a week, which was very much needed and very beautiful. So much so that I’ll be touring the area for a short time at the end of October, and again next year! If you’d like to be put on my mailing list, let me know and I’ll keep you updated with my travel plans. I’ll post some photos next entry… and believe me, you are going to want to see this entry as I have some huge news…

Anyway… I entered a writing competition recently, for well-known feminist online magazine Feministing. The prize is a regular contribution slot so for obvious reasons, the idea of winning this is a dream come true.
It would mean the world to me if you read the two pieces I entered and if you commented (sign up in one easy step, or sign in if you use wordpress) , I’d be even happier!

Jeremy Kyle- Give women some credit! (It’s about claiming responsibility over our bodies and reproductive rights)

What happens after you save the world? (Female rights fighters- where are they now?)

Thanks so much- you rock.

Also, while I’m here and it’s my birthday, THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU to the very kind fans who have sent me birthday wishes and presents from my wishlist. I’ve really been overwhelmed and had some very lovely surprises waiting for me when I Β returned home from holiday. Return surprises are currently on their way to those fans. πŸ˜€
Keep an eye out for my next entry- I’m off to have a Harry Potter marathon, with homemade raspberry creme brulee!

Have a fantastic day, everyone!

Flighty Aphrodite!

I was writing my blog the other day, and I realised I hadn’t posted these pictures up! I had a lovely photoshoot on the beach with photographer Ottoblade. He had brought some crazy coloured dresses for me to whirl around, which I happily did! As I was reading “The Song of Achilles” at the time, I had a head full of Greek myths and so was making up stories while I posed. (I often find it helps art-modelling to have a story in my head about why exactly I could be bounding across a sand dune with nothing on.)

So here you are:
Photographer: Ottoblade (aka Derrick Clarke)

I’m off on holiday at the end of the month but as I’ll be travelling pretty much non-stop when I return, I thought I’d post my travel plans here so if you happen to be reading this and fancy booking your very own Roswell photoshoot when I’m in your area, you can let me know!
Available anywhere- it’s just as it sounds! I am available to shoot absolutely anywhere if travel expenses (reduced by a third due to my lovely railcard) are covered.

September 20th-30th: Bedfordshire/Milton Keynes

October 1st-5th: AVAILABLE ANYWHERE!

October 5th-7th: London Fetish Weekend

October 7th-23rd: Germany/Netherlands tour

October 23rd-27th: Liverpool/Manchester area

November 6th-15th (approx): Darlington/Leeds/Grimsby

As I’m sure you all know very well now, I love to travel and though I always plan to do some writing whikle I’m moving, it never quite happens due to views like this. Just had to share it with you- this is Manningtree.

I know I’m saying it every entry at the moment but thankyou, thankyou, thankyou to the fans who have bought me birthday presents! You will recieve a personalised gift back soon (posting a batch today). πŸ™‚

I’m off to the Peak District today for some quiet time, and will speak to you very soon… possibly about feminism. Possibly with pictures of mountains and nudity. Probably about the million articles I’m writing at the moment. Keep an eye out! πŸ˜‰

p.s. Have an outtake. This is me frolicking. πŸ˜›

What a lovely day. :)

12 Aug

Good evening!

So, after a very strenuous day of shooting contortion suspension bondage yesterday with Clover and Wykd-Dave, I woke up, crawled out of bed with many “owwwwww”s and decided I would in no way spend today in front of the computer. So I didn’t. Instead we packed up our stuff, dashed to Sainsbury’s and drove off in the sun toward the beach. It was not the beach I was aiming for, but still it was very lovely. Could’ve done with a naked lady, but still…

Looking up at the sky!

After stuffing ourselves with french baguette, cheese, artichokes and nectarines, we went for a walk (and found teeny circular Hobbit-houses!), then home for the Olympic opening ceremony. Just saw Annie Lennox- can I go everywhere in a giant pirate ship please? (UPDATE: But a transparent octopus would also be acceptable).
I can’t imagine what it would be like to be the best in the world at something. It must be an amazing feeling to wake up in the morning knowing that no-one is better at, say, running than you. (Though every time I’ve seen Usain Bolt interviewed, I find him INSUFFERABLY arrogant.)
Here’s me, definitely not about to run a race (but I do now think of starting positions looking at the photo)!

I then opened my e-mail for a quick check and found a very nice reference from Clover herself! (I still get a little nervous when I see I have a reference, as I often berate myself for not doing something, or doing too much of something during a shoot!) I don’t ever want to just assume that I’ve done a wonderful job. I didn’t have to worry this time as here’s the refence: πŸ™‚

“WykD_Dave and I had a wonderful shoot yesterday with Roswell. Put in 100%, very easy going and fun to collaborate with. Roswell is incredibly flexible and worked very hard in some challenging ties on a Shibari bondage shoot.
I can not recommend working with her enough.

Can’t wait to see the pictures- it was my first time working with one of these:

I’m still waiting for permission to post some rather colourful photos from a certain fashion show but as soon as I get it, you can have a look πŸ˜‰ Keep checking back…

Thankyou also to the fans who have just subscribed, and the people who have sent me birthday gifts recently! A personalised surprise is on its way back to you. πŸ™‚ If you’d like to be one of those people, my wishlist is here- click the link. πŸ™‚

I have a few days to catch up with my writing and e-mails so if you’re waiting for a message from me, you’ll hear from me very soon! Have a lovely week!

9 Aug

Hello there and happy August (it’s my birthday* month and the sun was shining today!)

I’m really happy to share some of my latest publications with you as I’ve been doing a *lot* of writing and stuff!
My latest article is now live on Univers D’Artistes and I’m asking whether genital photography can ever be considered ‘art’. I was a bit nervous publishing it, as people have strong opinions… and I had to trawl through some absolute terrors online to find suitable images! πŸ˜‰
Here’s the link: Can Genital Photography Ever Be Considered Art?

I’m also featured in an article published in photography magazine Camera Obscura- it’s about Irish photographer Eamonn Farrell. I love Ireland- there are so many dramatic landscapes and I’m already looking forward to my Spring tour even though the weather is often horrendous and I have a very vivid memory of sitting in a freezing waterfall at 5am… then gettting back in as I wanted to make doubly sure the cold didn’t show on my face and I had posed to the best of my ability. Despite the shivering, I had a great time working with Eamonn (highly recommended) and it’s nice to see his project gain the recognition it deserves.
Click the link! There are some other familiar faces in the piece- Nudes in the Irish landscape

And here’s a photo from the shoot, that I don’t think I ever posted! (by Eamonn Farrell)

It’s been a month full of rain showers and beautiful sunlight, so I’ve been sitting inside writing, then feeling guilty for being a couch potato on such a lovely day, then going for a walk and being hit in the face with a rainstorm! (Good thing I like rainstorms). I had one of my best friends, alt model Easy Tiger staying last weekend so despite the odd weather we ran around like mad things, had our pictures taken by photographer G Haskew and ate halloumi.
I’ll put pictures up when I have them but I do have this wonderful outtake that I not going to even try to explain…

Look at one of our locations!

I’m off to Montreal at the end of the month for the fetish weekend- very excited- I’ve never been to Canada! As New York is only a short hop away, I thought I’d take myself there for some exploring. I’m not sure how I’ll like New York as I’m very much a country bumpkin, but I like art galleries, I heard there was a pretty hanging garden somewhere and I’m hoping I’ll get some good blogs out of it (may have to channel Carrie Bradshaw, but without the awful dress sense.) πŸ˜‰ I’ll let you know!

I’m hoping to be able to show you some very colourful photos and even a video from a fashion show I did a little while ago. Stay tuned! I’m going to do some stretching now in preparation for my first contortion bondage shoot on Saturday… πŸ˜‰

* I would like to thanks all my very kind fans who have sent me a birthday present from my wishlist. That is lovely of you, and you should receive a personalised gift back from me shortly!
