Missing: Have you seen these hours?

8 May

How has it become May? What’s with the weather? How is it summer already?? Oh yes, because I’ve been running around doing stuff for so long I missed the memo. 😛 Don’t misunderstand me- it’s all good. 😉

I’d like to tell you all about my wonderful day but first just want to shout out to my friends who have spent the weekend in Berlin for the German Fetish Ball. I’m sorry I couldn’t be there- there are exciting reasons, I promise. You know I wouldn’t usually miss a chance to go to Berlin!
Photos by Belinda Bartzner that I have sat on for too long. These are from last GFB…

Being self-employed and on the go all the time, it’s easy to forget how to relax. I have a few ‘days off’ and realise I’ve spent them answering emails and booking the next three months work, and don’t feel ready to do another tour so soon. Now, I’m readdressing how I manage my time. I’m now aiming to spend as many hours as possible off the internet and being as creative as possible. 🙂 And reading about time management so I can blog about it, lol!

Last week, I had a Northern tour, working with some lovely photographers in interesting locations! (Pictures coming soon of course) and then had a little holiday at the end of a week’s touring- photographer Kitty Wood’s hen party. A penis-hat free afternoon tea and punk gig with not an L-plate or fake veil in sight. Hoorah! I cannot begin to tell you how much I have missed rock clubs, dancing and giant boots. Milton Keynes has its beautiful areas but there are no rock bars with Harley Davidson posters and AC/DC. I think I’ll go Northwards again- and soon! 😛
I’ll show you hen party pictures after Kitty has posted them, but here’s a shot of us from the engagement party (L-R, me, Kitty, Fal)

I came back from tour, winced at the 100+ emails in my inbox, ploughed through them at my mums (my bandwidth was eaten again by my addiction to Sons Of Anarchy), began to organise my Scotland tour and put the computer away with 30 replies already in the inbox. (You see why I always feel I’m behind on my tasks??)

Then I went to London. I love London- it’s full of history, oddballs and secrets. I’d gone to buy a wig and meet up with a photographer to discuss a writing project. And good things began to happen:
– She liked the story! Wahoo! (I don’t care who sees me naked but sharing my writing fills me with dread).
– The universe decided to offer me the little things I asked for. (Red shoes for a shoot- found them in a charity shop. A quiet place to sit- found a secret nature garden. And a bonus- Sons of Anarchy full box set reduced to £29.99. No more bandwidth eating!).
–  I found a dress to customise… and it looked like the universe. I’m picky about the charities I support and I found it in the perfect charity shop.
– My local kingfisher decided to sit next to me while I was re-reading one of my favourite books on the roof! I had sat up there hoping to see bats but this was incredible. ❤ This is what I sadly suspect my expression looked like. But without the tutu on my head. Also, I never wear white.

Of course, to illustrate a blogpost about time and where the heck it has gone, I wanted some ‘back in time’ pictures! And as Kitty Wood and Yummy Gummy have already made an appearance here, I’ll give you some more of their work. 😀 Kitty and I made an 80s themed set for Zivity which gave me an excuse to go crazy with the hair and make-up. I love green eyeshadow. Can’t seem to find a decent black though… any suggestions, ladies? (And gents too, if you wear make-up!)

Don’t you just love the net latex?? I have a small confession though… I’d been wearing the skirt back to front. The clear part is supposed to be at the back- but it shows the design is versatile, lol!

This was done with a special lens, apparently. So very 80s… 😀

If you also like the 80s and want your day to improve just a little, have a look at this alternative best mans speech. (Hint: It isn’t a speech.)

I’m almost fully booked until July!! I have a few days free at the start of June (I can go anywhere), then July is Manchester, Scotland and hopefully Switzerland, and August may be a Scandinavian tour! If you would like to book a photoshoot with me within England or Wales, get in touch ASAP as I may not be available in this country until October (I’m away all of September).

See? As I said, things are jam packed but that is by no means a bad thing. Adventures are coming and of course, so are photos… 😀

Tales from the Riverbank

24 Sep

Hello again and happy Autumn! Though the weather’s been lovely and sunny there’s a definite chill and the pavement near me is covered in spiky conker cases. The swallows are gone (bon voyage, little ones- enjoy Africa!) I realy believe in the influence of the seasons- if it’s winter and you feel like hibernating, do it. 99/100 hedgehogs recommend it, after all. 😛
BUT… I seem to be nesting instead! I’m doing DIY, I’m painting Tolkien quotes (“It’s a dangerous business, going out your door…”) and I’m making my room into the sci-fi boudoir of my imagination. It’s a really lovely feeling- making your home into a place that you want to return to. I’ll show you some pictures soon.

The fashion show I mentioned last blog went wonderfully, even with three outfits to wear in 11 minutes! There is a video and as soon as I have permission I will post it here, but for now here are some stills from Elysium photography:

Walking for Lady Allura. Check out my wings!!

Quick change and I’m trotting for Fabulously Fetish, with Constance Peach (who has a farm!) and Dominatrix Joyce in the middle.

I love concepts, editorials and fairytales so when photographer Emma-Jane asked me to work on a project with her, it was the squeeeee heard around the globe! 🙂 It was an early start and the grass was dewy when we set up our little world. Papers flying, material stretching and me balancing on one thigh to save the broken and valiant tiny chair Emma had serendipitously found discarded shortly before our shoot. Sudden ideas and half-formed stories discussed between shots. Roping in a stranger to help hold the set together. An adventure on a bus, pastries, curious pond birds. A stalker(!) Much, much pondweed…
Our shoot “Mizumi” was published in Most Magazine, so I can now share it with you…

Adventures after dark…

10 Jun

Hello and greetings from my hostel in Utrecht!

Sinical Magazine are running a poll of the top 20 Alt models! If you think I should be on there, drop them a message through this link. 🙂

So a few weeks ago I lurked around the London Docklands, with a suspicious suitcase, waiting for photographer Krukis to meet me for some camera-related mischief in aid of the soon-to-be-launched Nocturnal Girls magazine, in which I have a column. As we didn’t really want to be arrested in the first five minutes of shooting, our schedule was planned like a military operation- as these things often are. Armed with a blanket, my big kicking boots and the car I dubbed “the murderwagon”*, we set off into central London.
*I know nothing about cars, but quite a bit about serial killers and their car of choice for quite some time was the Volkswagen Beetle. This is not a beetle, but it is a shiny black Volkswagen that was being driven around with a naked woman in it so I claim artistic license here. 😉

I have never yet got into trouble when posing nude outdoors- I have had a few gawkers stop in their tracks and I swear every dog and owner for miles around turn up when I shoot in the countryside, but things have never got nasty (Hope I don’t jinx things now!) so I’m no longer nervous when working in public. The street we visited first was quiet (unsurprisingly for 11pm on a Sunday night, but we did see a pair of very nosy foxes who had a stare and then continued on their way) until we turned up. Then the world arrived, slowed down to the speed of a snail on tranquilisers and gawked for a bit. My theory is that the more you scramble for blankets, the worse you look, and what’s the point? They know I’m naked, I know I’m naked and by acting as though I’m ashamed, people automatically assume I’m at best doing porn and at worst doing something illegal. I continue posing in the most artistic way possible, holding poses for three shots or more until the spectators realise there’s nothing to see and move on.

So here we are: we named the stone skulls William and Harry.

And off we went to Covent Garden, for some fun around the corner. 😛
While posing, lit by the old-fashioned light on the wall, I couldn’t help but wonder if the alley I was in was a haunt of the old Victorian prostitutes, and made up a character for myself. Anonymous, naked and both hidden yet in plain sight if one knows where to look…

It’s something I know I do a lot, as do many models. Making up a storyline or a character to represent helps keep us inspired and thinking of new poses to experiment with. Of course we have our favourite poses- we know what is likely to be most flattering to our faces and figures, but in pretending to be someone else it helps break us out of that box.

When we changed setup and I got to play with the car, I made up another story- this time involving a woman who lures unsuspecting people toward the mysterious black car with an unseen driver, which spirits them away. A modern-day siren of sorts…

We didn’t realise that this inconspicuous little tunnel was actually a fairly well-used passageway until the third person muttered “sorry” (how English!) and continued on their way as I tried not to explode laughing.

e (57 of 69)

We did go to the centre of Covent Garden but as we were rumbled before the tripod touched the ground, we took this lovely shot and made a speedy getaway to our last destination…
A postmodern masterpiece, no? Notice Big Brother in the top right corner…
e (66 of 69)

As we approached the location we both burst out laughing (partly due to terrible murder jokes and partly because this was going to be simultaneously terrifying and hilarious) . Rain was gently coming down in a mist, the bridge was slippery, the tripod was cumbersome, and I guessed we had about ten seconds before we were acknowledged (it takes a few seconds to stare and then a few more to start screeching about moral decency). 😉
We pulled over.
I sprinted across the bridge.
I dropped my blanket.
I posed.
We ran.
SCRRREEEEEEEEEECH! (Tires)
Much, much giggling ensued. I generally hear nothing when working, except photographers’ instructions- and so I apparently didn’t see or hear the drunk man lurching across the bridge who muttered “oh, a naked woman…” and continued on his merry way. Bless his drunken soul.

e (68 of 69)

So there you go. I flashed parliament.

It all got a bit Benny Hill afterward as I tried to get dressed by Kings Cross station and forgot all about the night bus that came by at the precise moment I shouted that I’d lost my knickers, and the other night bus that came as I stood naked from the waist down, waving a pair of shiny stiletto shoes around.
My phone then rang just as I’d spread my wardrobe over the pavement looking for the elusive knickers so spectators were treated to the sentence “I’m safe- the photographer isn’t an axe murderer and I got naked in front of Big Ben”.

Hiding in the sanctuary that is Starbucks, I wound down from the four crazy hours that will be repeated in August in latex, fingers crossed! 😉

I’m currently on my annual Eurotour now and have even remembered to bring my phone cable! Backstage pictures: they are coming.

p.s. If you still haven’t voted for me in the Deep Down and Kinky Awards, it really would make my day/week/month if you could please! It takes all of ten seconds to fill in my name in the model’s section. Thankyou so much!
