Roswell on canvas

6 Mar

I post a lot of blogs with photos of myself (and don’t worry- that isn’t stopping any time soon!) but recently I’ve had a period of getting booked by artists and painters, which is always interesting! A looooong time ago when I used to watch soaps (not telling you which though ;) ), there was a hilarious episode in which a character was booked by an artist. She had a lovely experience eating grapes and being told how beautiful she was, but when the painting was unveiled, it looked a bit like this…

She was horrified but I think I’d think it was hilarious if it happened to me!
I now pose for a lot of life drawing classes, which is a little nervewracking (always worried I’ll sneeze or my stomach will rumble!) but interesting getting to see the styles other people have.

Here are just a few of the pictures I’ve had the chance to snap after a class at Windsor and Eton Fire Station (awesome class):

I can’t remember who the artists are- if one of these pictures is yours, please let me know so I can credit you! Thanks! :)

After a class, artist Dan Stepanek booked me for a painting session! First, he took some pictures of me, then projected them onto the wall and took some more with me posing in front of them- much fun! :D He sent me a picture of one of the paintings recently- here you go!

I’ve not been online much recently as I’m working on my novel (due to send off on March 31st). Today’s been a good day- a quarter of a chapter done. Bad days consist of constant fridge raiding and internet checking. Not doing so well now as life has imitated internet art…

but I’m positive for tomorrow. :D

Now, I posted on my facebook* page earlier today asking what I should blog about today. I actually have a blog saved up about inspiration (sort of) which I’m holding for a couple of days along with a post about why Carol Vorderman drives me insane, but another lovely fan would like to hear something funny. Now, that I can do right now!
Guess what happened the other day? Well… I won a Mills and Boon novel in a poetry contest for writing a poem called “Bus Love”. It involved people having sex in the back of a bus and could be the most ridiculous thing I have ever written (and won, lol!)

Still, it made my night (along with chocolate cake and hanging out with the lovely Anita De Bauch (who got a round of applause for being in love- yay!)and Madame Bink. We were watching Bink’s musician fiance Jack Broadbent play at a music and poetry night.)
Here they are- Bink being fluffy and gorgeous, Jack really isn’t a street preacher no matter what this picture suggests, and Anita reflecting in the window like a sexy 50s ghost!

Later in the week, I broke Anita while stretching together (never fear- she’s fine!) and gave myself a mohican for a shoot. Here we are with guest appearance by Lilith the hairless cat.

* Thankyou to all the lovely fans who shared my facebook page- I met my target and then some!! I’ll be drawing a name out of my awesome hat later this week and one of you will win a lovely signed picture!

I’m off now as the internet is distracting. Speak to you all soon!

Some tour dates…

23 Dec

Now that next year is fast approaching, I’m planning the travelling I’m going to do in 2012! It’s one of the things I love most about modelling- travelling, whether it’s flying across the world or finding new locations a few miles away. I cannot imagine staying in my hometown and never wanting to leave (I hear it’s an occupational hazard of living in Norwich!) ;)

I’m free for photoshoots from January onwards- so get in touch if you are interested in booking me! I begin touring in March* and will be visiting the South Coast.
My provisional dates are:
Reading:   7th-8th
Cornwall:    9th-11th (studio day on 11th)
Bournemouth: 12th-15th
Brighton: 16th-17th
Maidstone: 18th-20th

They are only a plan for now but if you want to book me on one of the dates, or want to work with me but can’t make the date, let me know and I’ll do my best to make it work.

I’m touring Scotland again in May and am planning to visit Glasgow, Edinburgh and even further North to Elgin depending on bookings…

As I haven’t done a proper tour of Ireland, that’s my plan for June and after that, I will be spending some time back in Norfolk and will be running tours of the fantastic shooting locations around! (like the one in the picture below- by Technical Boy!)

In late August, I want to take myself on holiday to Montreal Fetish Weekend- I’ve never been to Canada and I want to go! I may go (or come back) via New York too…

I’m sure there will be more mini-tours, so if your location isn’t on my list then get in contact and tell me! :D

* I now have more bookings than I can actually fit in so as of March 20th, I am slightly increasing my rates (don’t worry- no more than £5 per hour)  so if you would like to work with me, then January or February would be a good time to get that booking in! ;)
_______________________________________________________
Life-wise, this is my first Christmas away from my mum (and cat) so I’ve been trying to put off thinking about it and now I’ve just realised I really should finish my Christmas shopping… O_O
I haven’t really done cards this year as I’m trying to save money but I hope you all have a fantastic holiday. Now the solstice is over (it was yesterday- Blessed Be to my fellow Pagans), the nights are getting shorter again- hooray!!! I can’t wait until the spring when there will be blossom on the trees and the afternoon light is perfect for shooting… like THIS! (Photo by Silverlight)

I sent my novel, Sarascyon, to an agent a few months ago and have so far, had positive feedback so please cross your fingers for me! I’m also writing about art-nude photography for Univers D’Artistes… There’s also a film project on the cards.

I’m off to prepare for Christmas now- so have a good one and I will post again after the madness is over. So many exciting plans in progress! ;)

A.k.a. “Happy New Year” in Cantonese!

Something I’ve always wanted to do is go and see the Chinese New Year celebration in London and I’ve always missed it by a day. This time, I decided I’d be there *no matter what*, especially as it’s the Year of the Rabbit (me!!)

We were already in London as we’d been to the theatre the night before (Christmas present from Tom’s family. We went to see War Horse, which was amazing and beautiful. Very sad but beautiful- click on the link and see the trailer.) The next morning we went to Trafalgar Square to watch the organisers “wake up” the lions and dragon, which danced! :)
Sadly there was no big procession this year but lots of street performers in Chinatown! Check out this crowd!!!

Me under all the lanterns :)

There is a tradition that the good luck lions dance through the streets knocking on every door and giving blessings to the people inside! There were a few around Chinatown attracting crowds. The shop and restaurant owners were dangling pak choi on strings from the window because apparently *these* lions are vegetarian! :D

Not fair- *I* want to open the door and find a lion dancing on my doorstep!

Nom nom nom.

Rrrrrawl!

There was a luck tree and some kind of game involving throwing bags of stuff at it- this year is meant to be a good one for prosperity and fortune! Decided to go and find food instead though…

You know a few months ago I posted about Space Invaders in Barcelona…? (Entry on October 25th) Well, we found some here too! They’re everywhere. EVERYWHERE!!! (We found two more but the photos were too dark- sorry!)

I thought I’d find out what the year is meant to have in store for me and popped into the astrology shop…

Riiiiiight.

Sadly, there was no enlightenment to be found but there was a secret grotto with fountain, Buddha and crystals. Almost as good.

Eventually, we went back to Chinatown for bento boxes in Tokyo Diner. Yes that’s Japanese, so shoot me :P We had sat down and were just about to order when there was a knock at the door…..

Happy Chinese New Year!

P.S. Just got photos from Hooloovoo hair salon, who I modelled for a little while ago. My stylist was Kate:
