Roswell on canvas

6 Mar

I post a lot of blogs with photos of myself (and don’t worry- that isn’t stopping any time soon!) but recently I’ve had a period of getting booked by artists and painters, which is always interesting! A looooong time ago when I used to watch soaps (not telling you which though ;) ), there was a hilarious episode in which a character was booked by an artist. She had a lovely experience eating grapes and being told how beautiful she was, but when the painting was unveiled, it looked a bit like this…

She was horrified but I think I’d think it was hilarious if it happened to me!
I now pose for a lot of life drawing classes, which is a little nervewracking (always worried I’ll sneeze or my stomach will rumble!) but interesting getting to see the styles other people have.

Here are just a few of the pictures I’ve had the chance to snap after a class at Windsor and Eton Fire Station (awesome class):

I can’t remember who the artists are- if one of these pictures is yours, please let me know so I can credit you! Thanks! :)

After a class, artist Dan Stepanek booked me for a painting session! First, he took some pictures of me, then projected them onto the wall and took some more with me posing in front of them- much fun! :D He sent me a picture of one of the paintings recently- here you go!

I’ve not been online much recently as I’m working on my novel (due to send off on March 31st). Today’s been a good day- a quarter of a chapter done. Bad days consist of constant fridge raiding and internet checking. Not doing so well now as life has imitated internet art…

but I’m positive for tomorrow. :D

Now, I posted on my facebook* page earlier today asking what I should blog about today. I actually have a blog saved up about inspiration (sort of) which I’m holding for a couple of days along with a post about why Carol Vorderman drives me insane, but another lovely fan would like to hear something funny. Now, that I can do right now!
Guess what happened the other day? Well… I won a Mills and Boon novel in a poetry contest for writing a poem called “Bus Love”. It involved people having sex in the back of a bus and could be the most ridiculous thing I have ever written (and won, lol!)

Still, it made my night (along with chocolate cake and hanging out with the lovely Anita De Bauch (who got a round of applause for being in love- yay!)and Madame Bink. We were watching Bink’s musician fiance Jack Broadbent play at a music and poetry night.)
Here they are- Bink being fluffy and gorgeous, Jack really isn’t a street preacher no matter what this picture suggests, and Anita reflecting in the window like a sexy 50s ghost!

Later in the week, I broke Anita while stretching together (never fear- she’s fine!) and gave myself a mohican for a shoot. Here we are with guest appearance by Lilith the hairless cat.

* Thankyou to all the lovely fans who shared my facebook page- I met my target and then some!! I’ll be drawing a name out of my awesome hat later this week and one of you will win a lovely signed picture!

I’m off now as the internet is distracting. Speak to you all soon!

p.s. Are you on Zivity? If so, my new set is live! It’s called “Salute” and I’ve linked it HERE! If you aren’t on Zivity, that’s no problem- you can unlock it for only two dollars! :D Just click the link and follow the instructions.

Shiny Sunday!

18 Feb

Yes, I know that *technically* it isn’t Sunday any more but I was sleepy and needed my bed, mmmkay? ;)

I’m packing for a two-day booking in Spain at the moment- amazing the oufits and accessories that you forget you have! I’m looking forward to feeling the sun again, though it’s been beautiful in England these past couple of days. I had a really lovely day yesterday- listened to music on the train while watching for birds and animals, had a chilled-out shoot in a beautiful house in London, then watched the sunset over Windsor Castle as I arrived for my life-drawing class. (I was modelling- I can’t draw people!)
I also can’t find my connector- there are some gorgeous photos I wanted to show you from an awesome girly night in Anita De Bauch’s hotel suite! Next blog… :)

Now, if you’re following me on Tumblr or Twitter (and if you’re not, you should…) you’ll know that I’ve started posting some new pictures. Tuesday is now “Tied-Up Tuesday”- you’ll see a new picture of me in bondage every Tuesday, and Sunday is all about the latex, so it’s… “Shiny Sunday”! I’m thinking about some other days too: how about “Wild Wednesday”- pictures of me posing out in the wilderness? Or “Photoshop-free Friday”- a behind-the-scenes shot every week?
Let me know if you have any ideas- I’ll see what I can do!

On that note, I *do* listen to your ideas and what you have to say. I was sent a lovely message a few days ago by a fan and when I replied, he was surprised that I’d taken the time to do so. (You know who you are!) You all are one of the main reasons I love what I do and I will always reply to your messages. It may take me a little while as I get a lot of mail, but I always reply. :)

Soooooo…

About that Shiny Sunday…

I have a new set on Zivity by Sean McCormack! It was taken with Infrared and I think the pictures rock. Obviously, I can’t show you the whole set here but I’m posting three of my favourites.
If you would like to see the whole set, you can! All you need to do is click THIS LINK and ask to unlock the set- it’s only 2 dollars!

Ponybright and proud.

6 Feb

Hey everyone!

I’m back at the Mothership, lighting a fire to warm my freezy little bisexual hands. I got up late, as I’d had a late bisexual night, I ate my bisexual breakfast and now, I’m writing a bisexual blog entry. (And three guesses what I’m about to write about…) ;)

For those of you who don’t know or aren’t in the UK, I’m very proud of my country today as UK MPs have voted in favour of legalising gay marriage by a landslide. Currently, gay people are allowed to have what is called a “civil ceremony/civil partnership”. It entitles couples to the same legal rights as a “married” couple, but is not called a marriage. Until recently, civil ceremonies could not be conducted in places of worship and did not include religious texts or hymns.

I have enormous respect for the real, historical Jesus Christ, in the same way that I respect the teachings of the Buddha and the Dalai Lama as I believe that all religions have something good to teach the world. In light of this, I believe that a man who preached an overwhelming message of love no matter what and defended marginalised members of society (at that time) would be disgusted at the hypocrisy his legacy has sometimes provoked. Jesus himself said nothing about gay people, and the two people in the Bible who mentioned it in any way also preached a whole lot of crazy that is now discarded. The MPs who used outdated quotes to vote against this ruling have no valid argument. None.
Anyway, back to my bisexual coffee…

One of the best things I have read is a statement by Liz Feldman:
“It is very dear to me- the issue of gay marriage- or as I like to call it, ‘marriage’. You know, because I had lunch this afternoon, not gay lunch. I parked my car- I didn’t gay park it.”
The term is now ‘equal marriage’, I think. (And hopefully one day, it will just be ‘marriage’. ;)

Well done, UK- I’m so proud of you!!! :D

And so, as I have no rainbow pictures (that’ll change soon as I have plans), I will post the next best thing…

You can’t tell from the pictures, but we were fighting against a mini-sandstorm and I kept getting blown around! Much fun though, as always. Berlin is most definitely one of my favourite cities- it’s the only place I could walk around dressed like that, with a bendy whip and not get stared at too much.

I’m off to have a chat with some magazine-y types now, so will speak to you soon.
Oh, and while I remember, I hear that a certain few fans of mine have been petitioning to put me on the cover of Skin Two. Thankyou guys, that is enormously flattering and utterly awesome. All I can say is keep it up, lol!! You’ll be the first to know if your advice is taken. :P
If you want to join in, my feature is here: http://www.skintwo.co.uk/roswell-ivory-model-and-writer/
And their twitter is here: https://twitter.com/SkinTwo

Oh, and one more thing! Can anyone recommend anywhere lovely (and preferably not too expensive) to visit in the Edinburgh area? I’m touring again as of the end of this month and want to see amazing things while I’m on the road.

The strength of the earth

28 Dec

I’m on holiday! I’m enjoying it. :) I’ve been eating all sorts of Christmas crap, having marathon ‘Lie To Me’ sessions, cuddling my cat and planning my projects for next year. I’m getting a bit restless actually so am about to start making new outfits for shoots and looking into my next career…

I’ve also been sent so many images and tearsheets recently- I’ll post them one at a time. :)

My recent article (about the ins and outs of latex) in Rebelicious magazine features photos of me in some seriously awesome latex. (Credits on the page) :D

Rebelicious Magazine Issue 1016

I’ve also had images back from one of the most beautiful locations I’ve ever shot in! During last year’s South Coast tour (I’ll be back in the area from March 12th-26th), I worked with Imagesse. He sent me some images from the various locations in advance of the shoot so I was very excited about it.
It was freezing so I spent most of the morning running around in naked circles to warm up before climbing around rocks, watched by perplexed sheep. After a lunch break (and a few minutes spoiling some friendly ponies), the sun came out and we climbed down into the valley amid gnarled trees like little moss-covered Ents (Lord of the Rings), toward a stream with stepping stones. As the sun shone through the tree line, I saw the tiniest rope swing. What an amazing thing to be able to visit the place and fly through the air whenever I fancied! One day…

Coincidentally, I was watching Sherlock the other day and could have sworn they filmed at one of the same locations! (It’s the episode called ‘Hounds of Baskerville’ if you’re interested. It’s a great show!)

Anyway, if a picture really is worth one thousand words, I’ll stop waffling and show you these… ;)

And this one’s more of an outtake, but I quite like it! I think it was part of my “get warm” dance routine, lol!

While I enjoy improving my flexibility, I do love shots where I’m curled up on things. :)

Keep an eye out for my next blog- I learned a lot this year, did a lot, and am excited about my plans for 2013. You can even be part of them! As I say… keep watching and subscribe by clicking on the link at the right if you’d like an automatic update! ;)

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and I’ll speak to you very soon,

ROSWELL xxx

p.s. To the very kind fans who bought me a gift from my Amazon wishlist, thankyou so, so much. It means a lot to me that you thought of me this Christmas. I’m looking forward to reading the books and wearing the clothes, which you’ll see very soon. :)

The day I was a guerilla… and other stories

23 Nov

While searching for video footage of me for the video section on my website that is coming soon… I found this! I feature at the very start (could only do the photoshoot as I was booked for another show later in the day). It was a guerilla photoshoot and fashion show for Vengeance Designs on the streets of New York City… ;)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bU00lGn-a3Y

Click the link above as for some reason I can’t upload the video :S

It was great  to finally work with Lydia the designer- it was all a bit hectic getting ready and out on time for the show(s) in various locations but when we were out and about we seemed to get a good response! I wish they’d shown some footage of us on the subway though- we did a fashion show through a moving carriage, lol!

Anyway, here are some stills from the day. Don’t you just love the dress!!???

Group shot! (I’ve mailed the designer for names and will add as I get them- I already know some of the people in here. Left is Lydia Lael aka the designer and Fonda Feeling is on the right.)

Now, as I’m updating my showreel, if any of you are videographers and would like to make some short videos, get in contact at http://www.roswellivory.co.uk with a link to some samples of your work. :D

As Christmas is coming, if you fancy treating your loved one(s) to a lovely outfit, why don’t you go and have a look in my SALE? I’m selling many of my old photoshoot outfits (and more) at fantastic discounts. If you see anything you’d like, either send me a message or comment on theimage to reserve it. (Do NOT just click ‘like’ please- I need to know you want it reserved. Thanks) :)
And of course you don’t *have to* be treating a loved one- why don’t you treat yourself while you’re at it?

p.s. I have spelled “guerilla” right, right?? I looked it up online and the word is sometimes listed with one R and sometimes with two.
