Okay, so the apocalypse happened to G Haskew’s computer. (Want more apocalypse references? I have plenty more where that came from…)
Sadly, almost an entire photoshoot was lost- back up your work, folks!
However, I still have a few of the pictures to show you.
(Obviously the namesake of this blog, lol! We had several pictures of me bouncing around in the dust in homage to the Madonna video)
And as soon as the staff stopped looking…
You really really should go and look at G Haskew’s other work as well- he’s amazing at finding locations and is now beginning a new venture into urban exploration. Just click his name above!
Now, talking of stopping…
Don’t worry- I’m not going anywhere just yet as I still love my job and I’m certainly planning on at least another two years of modelling for a living. However, the job I want eventually will probably take me several years of hard work before I get to where I want to be, and so I’m now applying like crazy to as many volunteer projects as I possibly can. (Did I mention I want to work in conservation?) ![]()
Soooo… this is one of those times in which you may be able to help with my future plans! Do you, or does anyone you know, work in conservation (especially with projects in Africa, Madagascar, Australia or in marine biology?) If so, could you please send me a message through my website? I want to talk to you!
Thanks!
I’m excited to say that one of my New Year’s resolutions looks set to be SMASHED! I planned to visit at least two new countries each year. Well, this year, it looks as though I’ll be hitting Malta, Austria (Vienna), Romania, Norway, Australia, New Zealand, China and (if I get the chance) Borneo!
I’m getting itchy feet already but it’s too cold for touring season at the moment. I’m using my free time to write, chill in front of the fire and watch the birds outside eat the homemade treats I’ve been leaving them*.
I’m now watching Africa (narrated by King David)
Golden rule: do not talk while the Attenborough is talking. Night night…
ROSWELL xxx

Completely lost ….. sigh
I know! We had some great pictures and everything!
I meant I am
How true. When the Good Sir Attenborough speaketh, thou most certainly be silent…
What are your bird treats made out of?
LOL!
I’m such an idiot- I meant to put the recipe at the bottom of the entry!!
1) Get half a coconut shell
2) Squish a load of lard, porridge oats, sultanas and mixed seeds into it.
3) Ta-daa!
“And as soon as the staff stopped looking…
”
Yeah, right…like they’d ever stop looking at the red haired Venus in front of them…..
I’m going to have to try that out…see how the local birds here take to it….
LOL! We were in quite a remote area and eventually they took it for granted that we were there.
It’s great- if you’re already feeding birds then they’ll probably find it straight away but if not, it may take a few days for them to realise there’s something there. I hang mine from the tree at the front of the garden and the sparrows and robin noticed, but the bluetits didn’t for 24 hours. Birdbrains!
“eventually they took it for granted that we were there.
” That you were there, yeah…..that you in a …..even more interesting state of dress…would kind of hard to take that for granted….
Tried it out……I also get the sparrows….& a great deal of woodpeckers as well….
LOL!
And wow- I haven’t seen any woodpeckers near this house… ever!
Very cool to see them.
I get the downy woodpecker in particular…

That. Is. ADORABLE!!!
They are one of the cuter birds around here…
You know I really love this whole shoot, but I think the one thing that really strikes a chord with me overall is a simple one – familiarity. The whole thing brings to me an element of home. I can picture any number of locations around where I am from that this or something similar could occur. I don’t know how many people have ever seen the show “Justified” but I can honestly admit that as a Kentucky native they do a pretty good job with regards to the setting etc. While it is based on the eastern part of our state and I am from the western the scenery is spot on and very similar to your shoot. It is always a pleasure to see a beautiful landscape matched to the model. Well done!
Thankyou so much- that’s really lovely of you! I was actually very near my home at the time- just down the road in fact.
I haven’t seen “Justified” but will have to go and have a look.
Love every thing about the series including the boots. Thank You and keep up the great work.
Thankyou so much! I’ll have to do some more “alt” shoots!
